A unique Rolex two-tone case timepiece! This is a vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Officially Certified Chronometer wristwatch, model reference 6581 and dated from 1960 based on the serial number.
The first waterproof watch case Rolex made was the “Oyster” – And “Perpetual” refers to the perpetually winding rotor inside every Rolex watch.
This is an automatic watch powered by an original Montres Rolex S.A. automatic fame “butterfly” movement, signed ROLEX PERPETUAL PATENTED, caliber 1030, 25 jewels, sweep second, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, Geneva - Swiss made.
The movement caliber Rolex was also used in some desirable early submariners and explorers.
It still has the original beige dial (showing some aged and patina) featuring gold hour markers, bold minute/second track, gold matching hands and blue steel sweep second hand. The dial is signed with the Rolex name and the Rolex Crown logo, also Oyster Perpetual Officially Certified Chronometer.
Classic and elegant, this watch is cased in a 35mm round stainless-steel case with fixed engine turn bezel, original Rolex signed crown and the traditional oyster Rolex case back.
This watch comes with a New-Old-Stock light brown Gemex Calfskin two-piece strap. Also, we are offering this watch in an original green Rolex service pouch.
This wristwatch in very good condition. Runs very well and keeps great time!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.

The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
